Efficacy of triclabendazole in human pulmonary paragonimiasis resistant to emetine, bithionol and praziquantel

, : Efficacy of triclabendazole in human pulmonary paragonimiasis resistant to emetine, bithionol and praziquantel. Parasitologia al Dia 17(1/2): 44-46

Three Ecuadorian patients suffering from Paragonimus mexicanus infections, who had failed to respond to treatment with emetine, chloroquine, bithionol or praziquantel, were treated with triclabendazole. Two of the patients received a single dose of 10 mg/kg and the 3rd was given a 5 mg/kg dose each day for 3 days to determine the most effective dosage.
