, : Efficiency of N-K combinations on nutrient uptake and productivity of IR.50 rice with varying population. Madras Agricultural Journal 79(11): 628-634

In a field trial in the kharif season of 1986 at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, rice IR.50 was sown at 66 or 80 plants/hill (15x10 and 12.5x10 cm spacings, respectively) and was given 75 kg N + 50 kg K2O, 150 kg N + 50 kg K2O, 150 kg N + 100 kg K2O, 225 kg N + 50 kg K2O or 225 kg N + 100 kg K2O/ha. Grain yield increased with plant population and was optimum with 150 kg N + 50 k K2O. N, P and K uptake in the grain were highest with 150 kg N + 50 k K2O.
