Emergency sclerotherapy for bleeding oesophageal varices in patients with hepatic schistosomiasis and/or non-alcoholic cirrhosis

Journal of Tropical Medicine 2(2): 1-6

A study is described in which the value of injection sclerotherapy, during emergency endoscopy for bleeding oesophageal varices, was assessed. 52 patients with chronic liver disease and portal hypertension presented on 60 occasions with bleeding from oesophageal varices were treated.
