Estimation of agricultural profit using acreage response cost function

Estimation of agricultural profit using acreage response cost function

The textbook formula shows profit as revenue minus cost. However, agricultural cost of cultivation data requires information on a large number of items which are not readily available if farmers do not keep records or accurate accounting data. This paper formulates an alternative method for estimating agricultural profit which does not require data on cost of cultivation.
