Estimation of condensed tannins in faba bean (Vicia faba L.)
A novel nylon chromatographic method for quantitative estimation of condensed tannins (proanthocyanidins) in the testa was developed and tested on 5 heterogeneous plant introductions of different provenance. Separation according to testa colour yielded 22 samples for analysis, some of which were analysed by the vanillin method for comparison.
