Discussion of differing methods for estimating recycling frequency of glass bottles showed that observed returns depend on the stage in the marketing phase that the recycling system has reached. When changes in turnover occur, correction equations for normalizing returns must be employed. It is not advisable (for numeric and methodological reasons) to use recycling duration. Correction equations closely related to the system stage should be carried out.
