Abstract
Korean native heifers about 125 to 140 kg were fed on maize-soyabean based diets differing in energy and protein contents and fed at 80, 100 or 120% of NRC recommendations, the values of which are given in a table. Body weight gain, DM intake, metabolizable energy, crude protein intake and prediction of nutrient requirements are also given in tables. Total digestible nutrient requirement (kg/day)=-1.04+0.056 W0.75 +2.10 daily gain (Rsuperscript 2=0.81); digestible energy requirement (Mcal/day)=-4.58+0.245 W0.75 +9.27 daily gain (Rsuperscript 2=0.81); metabolizable energy requirement (Mcal/day)=-3.75+0.20 W0.75 +7.61 daily gain (Rsuperscript 2=0.81) where W is body weight.
