Estimation of fitness values for virulence genes in collections of rice blast fungus from Niigata Prefecture

, : Estimation of fitness values for virulence genes in collections of rice blast fungus from Niigata Prefecture. Annals of the Phytopathological Society of Japan 59(4): 396-406

Data on host-pathogen relationships of rice and Pyricularia oryzae obtained in Niigata Prefecture were analysed by application of a simulation model for following changes in frequency of pathogen genotypes. Statistics on the proportion of growing areas of cultivars with different genotypes for blast resistance were obtained and the frequencies of genotypes for virulence of the fungus were calculated from the data for 1976-86 in 6 areas.
