Estimation of phosphorous availability in composts and compost/peat mixtures by different extraction methods

, : Estimation of phosphorous availability in composts and compost/peat mixtures by different extraction methods. Communications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis 25(11/12): 2063-2080

A trial was conducted with compost and compost/peat mixtures to test extraction methods for estimating P availability using Dendranthema grandiflorum as a test plant. All the test composts had a high pH and salt contents. Amounts of P extracted by different extraction methods decreased in the order: Formate < CAL < NH4Ac < CaCl2/DTPA < CaCl2.
