Estimation of salbutamol by high performance thin layer chromatography

, : Estimation of salbutamol by high performance thin layer chromatography. Industrie Alimentari 32(311): 42-44

Salbutamol, a beta -agonist sometimes added to livestock feeds to improve the leanness of meat, was detected in samples of urine and meat from pigs using the dansyl chloride (5(dimethylamino)naphthalene-1-sulfonyl chloride) method followed by high performance thin layer chromatography. Minimum detectable dose was between 0.1 to 0.01 mg/ml or 2 ng of deposited substance.
