Estimation of short-term possible reduction of nitrogen fertilizing in the agriculture in the federal territory (western Provinces)

, : Estimation of short-term possible reduction of nitrogen fertilizing in the agriculture in the federal territory (western Provinces). Kongressband 1992 Gottingen Vortrage zum Generalthema des 104 VDLUFA Kongresses vom 14-1901992 in Gottingen: Okologische Aspekte extensiver Landbewirtschaftung: 159-162

The measurement of decreases in excess nitrogen is briefly discussed and data on the determination of area-related optimal intensity of N-fertilizing for various crops in western Germany are tabulated. Nitrogen balances for the federal territory for the 1984-1988 period, in relation to optimal N-fertilizing for 6 major crops are presented. Regional N-savings potential varied between 0 and 120 kg N/ha depending on farming system and production intensity.
