The vertical migration of D. longispina was studied in relation to the feeding activity of adult roach (Rutilus rutilus) and the presence of Chaoborus flavicans larvae during a diel cycle on the 20-21 July 1988 during a 2-year study of the zooplankton living in eutrophic Lake Aydat, Massif Central, France. Zooplankton were collected at 3-h intervals at 3 stations situated along a transect from the littoral to the pelagic area.
