Notes on geology, climate and vegetation are given related to populations of E. pellita, A. mangium, A. crassicarpa and A. aulacocarpa in Irian Jaya, and A. mangium and A. aulacocarpa in the Lake Murray area of Papua New Guinea, from which seedlots were collected and are available for trials.
