The meeting dealt with the totally new conditions created for EC, and particularly German, agriculture by the reform of the CAP and decisions on GATT, and the need for radical changes to meet these new conditions. Individual papers deal with the competitive position of central European agriculture, the framework for European agriculture in an international context, agricultural policy requirements for a competitive agriculture and market opportunities for European agricultural products.
