Europeans struggle for market shares

, : Europeans struggle for market shares. DLG Mitteilungen Agrar Inform 107(11): 20-24

Changes in EC countries' market shares in production of cereals, milk, sugarbeet and rape in the period 1977/78-1988 are examined. France, with the biggest (32.3%) share of cereal production, also showed the largest increase (2.9%), with Germany (including the ex-GDR) with 20.7% of production (a 1.2% decrease), and the UK 12.7%, (a 0.9% increase). Other countries showed negligible increases or, more generally, a fall in market share.
