Evaluation of Chinese Triticeae for resistance to barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV)

Some 266 Triticeae accessions collected during three expeditions in northern China (from Shaanxi, Gansu, Shanxi, Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces) were evaluated for resistance to barley yellow dwarf luteovirus (BYDV). The accessions tested included the genera Agropyron (5 species), Elymus (8), Leymus (6), Roegneria (10), Hordeum (3), Psathyrostachys (2) and Elytrigia (2). Seedlings were artificially inoculated and virus levels then assayed by ELISA.
