Five dogs were experimentally inoculated with virulent L. interrogans serovar icterohaemorrhagiae. Pyrexia was observed for 4-7 days after inoculation. Other clinical signs included anorexia, depression, conjunctival congestion and diarrhoea. Leptospiraemia was seen during the febrile period on days 4, 5, 6 after inoculation and the isolation of leptospires was possible in the first week.
