Exploitation of anther culture derived doubled haploids in wheat breeding

Exploitation of anther culture derived doubled haploids in wheat breeding

Bericht uber die Arbeitstagung 1991 der "Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Saatzuchtleiter" im Rahmen der "Vereinigung osterreichischer Pflanzenzuchter", Gumpenstein, Osterreich, 26-28 November 1991: 35-42

Factors influencing haploid production by means of anther culture and subsequent dihaploidization are described. Particular attention is paid to culture media and genetic aspects of the induction process. Studies have shown that C17 medium (containing agarose, 1.5 mg 2,4-D and 0.5 mg kinetin/litre) with added Ficoll stimulates regeneration rates.
