Genes for susceptibility to Ustilago nuda tritici in bread wheat

Genes for susceptibility to Ustilago nuda tritici in bread wheat

Wheat Information Service ( 76): 16-19

The genetics of resistance in Chinese Spring to an Indian collection of U. nuda f.sp. tritici was studied using ditelosomic and monosomic lines. Chinese Spring was susceptible at the embryonic stage but resistant at the adult plant stage. At least 3 hemizygous genes, causing susceptibility to U. nuda at the embryonic stage, were located, one each on the long arms of chromosomes 2A, 3A and 6B.
