Genesis and classification of a soil derived from volcanic materials of the Kelud volcano



Indonesian Journal of Tropical Agriculture 3(2): 86-90



Soil samples adjacent to the crater of the Kelud volcano, Indonesia, were analysed for their chemical, physical and mineralogical properties in order to investigate the effects of recent eruptions on the genesis and classification of these soils. Results indicate that the soils have developed from materials originating from three different eruptions.
