Six varieties differing in salt tolerance and their hybrids from a diallel set of crosses were evaluated in pots with normal and saline soil. Additive and dominance gene effects were significant for number of days to flowering, height, tiller number, panicle length, number of spikelets/panicle, 1000-grain weight and dry matter accumulation under normal and saline conditions. However, the additive effect was significant for grain yield only under saline conditions.
