Genetic analysis of a mathematical model of the lactation curve in dairy cattle

10-day, 30-day and 60-day milk yields of 43 Holstein cows from 26 sires were used to derive parameters of lactation curves using the Wood model, the modified polynomial model and the regression model. The results of analysis of variance for lactation curve parameters and 305-day milk yield showed that the effects of calving season and parity on these traits were significant.
