Genetic analysis of a single urediniospore culture of Cronartium quercuum f.sp. fusiforme, using random amplified polymorphic DNA markers

Random amplified polymorphic DNA markers were developed for C. quercuum f.sp. fusiforme causal agent of fusiform rust disease on pines in the southern USA. Genetic linkages were identified between 103 marker loci in a population of 48 gametothalli and drops of spermatia produced from a single urediospore culture. A preliminary genetic linkage map with 8 linkage groups and 12 linked pairs is presented.
