Genetic analysis of agronomic traits in two-rowed barley

Genetic analysis of agronomic traits in two-rowed barley

Acta Agriculturae Shanghai 7(3): 93-96

Genetic analysis of 45 F1 barley hybrids and 10 parents showed that heterosis was present in all traits examined in the hybrids. Straw weight, grain number/ear and straw weight/plant height were mainly controlled by additive genes, while grain yield/plant, ear number/plant and ear length were mainly controlled by dominant genes. Other traits were controlled by both dominant and additive genes. Results suggested superdominance in some traits and partial dominance in others.
