Genetic analysis of exotic barley germplasms for resistance to soil-borne mosaic viruses

Genetic analysis of exotic barley germplasms for resistance to soil-borne mosaic viruses

Barley Genetics Newsletter 1992; 21: 69-72

Several foreign accessions, mainly from East Asia, were screened in the greenhouse for resistance to barley mild mosaic bymovirus (BaMMV), and in the field for resistance to BaMMV/barley yellow mosaic bymovirus (BaYMV) (in northern Hesse) and to BaYMV-2 (in Lower Saxony). Different types of resistance to the 3 viruses were observed, with most varieties being resistant to 2 or 3.
