Genetic analysis of fertility restoration in hybrid rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Four cytoplasmically male sterile lines (Pushpa A, Pragathi A, Mangala A and ES18A) were crossed with pollen parents IR20, IR36, IR46, IR54 and CO37. In the F1 pollen fertility ranged from 53.8% (Pragathi A x IR46) to 84.2% (Pushpa A x IR54) and spikelet fertility from 70.9% (Pushpa A x CO37) to 93.4% (Pushpa A x IR54).
