Genetic analysis of leaf and physiological traits in forage sorghum across environments

Six CMS lines and 18 diverse pollinators of Sorghum bicolor were crossed in a line x tester fashion at 2 locations (Anand and Sardar Krushinagar) during kharif 1981. Sowing dates were 21 July and 20 August at Anand, and 30 July and 25 August at Sardar Krishinagar. Combining ability, separately and on a pooled basis, was evaluated for 9 quantitative leaf traits. Estimates of genetic variance due to GCA and SCA are presented.
