Genetic analysis of plant height and the traits above flag leaf node in bread wheat

Genetic analysis of plant height and the traits above flag leaf node in bread wheat

Sarhad Journal of Agriculture 7(1): 131-134

A 5 .times. 5 diallel cross study on bread wheat was conducted to ascertain the type of gene action of some quantitative characters i.e. plant height, flag leaf area, peduncle length and spike length. Significant differences were observed among genotypes for these traits. The graphic representation showed that partial dominance was present for plant height and peduncle length whereas flag leaf area and spike length was governed by over-dominance type of gene action. Epistasis was observed for plant height and spike length.
