Genetic analysis of quantitative characters in plants

A method of hybridological analysis is presented for gene identification of parental forms by computer investigation of the quantitative characters. It makes possible on the basis of the value of P-1, P-2, F-1, F-2, F-1BC-1P-1, F-1BC-1P-2 generations to find automatically the means and SCA of the segregating genotypes in F-2, the main gene effects, the effects of their interactions (allelic and interallelic up to 3rd grade), the effects of dominance and overdominance, possibilities for assessing gene linkage of differing allelic forces, associated and dispersed gene distributions. The method in intended to reveal the effects of mono- and digenic modes of inheritance in quantitative characters. In opposite cases are assessed total effects of gene actions determining the genetic variability of the character. The method consists of construction of a basic equation with unknown parameters which can be exposed to the treatment on the side of the researcher, finding the maximum functions corresponding to the basic data P-1, P-2, F-1, F-2, F-1BC-1P-1, F-1BC-1P-2 and using the method in dividing the distribution mixture providing the singularity of genetic parameter data and confirming the adequacy of the models derived.
