Genetic analysis of the main agronomic traits of four semidwarf rice varieties from Yunnan

Genetic analysis of the indica varieties Ai Tou Gu, Ai Ma Kang, Hao An Xin and Han Ya Zuo, from the Yunnan province of China, indicated that semidwarfness in the first two of these varieties is controlled by a single recessive gene which is allelic to sd1. When the semidwarfs were crossed with long-strawed varieties, the F1 hybrids involving Hao An Xin and Ai Ma Kang showed heterosis for some economic traits.
