Genetic analysis on some traits of hybrid progenies from wild and cultivated rice

Genetic analysis on some traits of hybrid progenies from wild and cultivated rice

Acta Agriculturae Shanghai 7(2): 1-9

Cultivated indica rice cultivar IR24 and IR26, and japonica rice Xiangqing and Hanfeng were crossed with wild rice Oryza rufipogon with genome AA from Guangdong and Jiangxi, which had fertility percentages of 10.3-13.3 and 14.0-29.0%, respectively. Their F1s were planted in fields and studied. All the F1 plants were vigorous and had a significantly higher plant height, stem thickness and tillering ability than that of the cultivated parents, though they had many similar characteristics.
