Genetic and cellular analysis of resistance to vesicular arbuscular (VA) mycorrhizal fungi in pea mutants

Genetic and cellular analysis of resistance to vesicular arbuscular (VA) mycorrhizal fungi in pea mutants

Advances in molecular genetics of plant microbe interactions Volume I Proceedings of the 5th International Symposium, Interlaken, Switzerland, 9-14 September 1990: 336-342

When 66 induced nodulation mutants of pea cultivars Frisson and Finale, derived from ethyl methanesulfonate treatment, were inoculated with Rhizobium, Glomus intraradices and G. mosseae, 21 of 45 non-nodulating (nod-) mutants expressed the myc-(1) phenotype in which infection by VA mycorrhizal (VAM) fungi was blocked at an early stage immediately after the formation of appressoria.
