Genetic and environmental variation in seed yield, seed size and cooking quality of lentil

Annals of Agricultural Science, Moshtohor 29(1): 51-60

A total of 30 Lens culinaris genotypes, comprising 15 Egyptian and 15 exotic, were grown during 1988-89, in 3 locations (Nubaria, Gemmeza and Mallawy), which represented both lower and upper production regions. Plants harvested when 90% of pods were mature, were measured for 1000-seed weight and assessed for cooking time. The predominant effect on variance of seed yield was location and genotype x location variance was also high.
