Data on carcasses from 312 Large White barrows, sired by 6 boars, were analysed. Carcass length averaged 91.54 cm, dressing percentage 80.05, backfat thickness 3.08 cm, eye-muscle area 29.41 cmsuperscript 2, the percentage of lean and fat in the carcass 45.86 and 25.1 respectively, and the percentage of leg 29.42; the corresponding hsuperscript 2s were 0.13, 0.19, 0.48, 0.23, 0.36, 0.66 and 0.64.
