Genetic aspects of harvest index in blackgram, Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper



International Journal of Tropical Agriculture 11(1): 71-73



Forty-five genotypes were evaluated for seed yield, nitrogen content at pre-podding and harvest, total biomass and specific leaf weight. A wide range of variation was observed for harvest index (HI, 39.5-56). Low genetic advance and moderate heritability indicated a non-additive gene action and influence of environment on HI.
