This survey includes information on the aims of the Prunus cerasus breeding programme in Hungary, brief descriptions of the main Hungarian cultivars Pandy, Cigany (Zingara), Meteor Korai (Meteor Precoce), Favorit, Erdi Jubileum (Giubileo di Erdi), Korai Pipacs Meggy (Early Poppy), Erdi Botermo (Abbondante di Erdi), and Ujfehertoi Furtos (Grappoli di Ujfeherto), and descriptions of the cultivar Csengodi and 3 selections (M172, M63 and M209).
