Six diverse homozygous okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) lines/varieties were crossed in a full diallel. The 30 F1 hybrids and 6 parents were grown during the rainy season of 1985-86 at Hisar. The data were used to derive information on genetic variance and heritability. Heritability estimates in the narrow-sense were high for first fruiting node and number of branches/plant, and moderate for days to 50% flowering and plant height.
