Genetic control of photoperiod reaction in flax (Linum usitatissimum L.)

In a study of 6 varieties differing in growth period duration and photoperiod sensitivity, together with their F1- F2 hybrids from a half-diallel set of crosses, sensitivity to a short (8 h) photoperiod was controlled by additive and dominance effects in the F1 and dominance in the F2. The predominance of additive effects in the F1 was confirmed by the GCA effects, which were 15 times greater than SCA effects in the F1.
