Genetic control of plant height in maize during ontogeny

Genetic control of plant height in maize during ontogeny

Vestsi Akademii Navuk BSSR Seryya Biyalagichnykh Navuk ( 3): 21-26, 122

Diallel crosses were performed involving 11 early lines: 8 lines and 28 crosses were used in 1986, but 3 of the lines were replaced in 1988 to give a somewhat different set of 28 crosses. Gene effects conditioning height were studied at 5 stages of ear development. Besides additive effects, overdominance was apparent in the control of height, with non-allelic interactions being noted at some development stages.
