Genetic defence of wheat stands against diseases

By means of a mathematical model of the "predator-prey" type, used to describe the replacement of a wheat variety susceptible to an obligate parasite by a resistant one, it is shown that the alternation of resistance genes according to a particular pattern dependent on the phytopathological situation in the region of cultivation is superior to other forms of defence, such as the use of multiline varieties.
