UP-PCR and the oligoprimer system oligoCs2 comprising 2 universal primers were used to analyse 2 C. sativus populations from barley and 3 from wheat. UP-PCR-patterns of the fungal isolates were divided into 8 PCR polymorphism types. Of them, 6 types were determined in barley populations, with 1 representing the majority of the isolates, and 4 types in wheat populations, of which the most common isolate was occasionally found on barley and 2 were specific for wheat.
