An analysis on genetic variability of 40 wheat genotypes, collected from different geographical sources, using Mahanolobis's statistical distance suggested that the varieties could be grouped into 11 clusters. Grouping of varieties in different clusters was not related to their geographical origin. Both Triticum aestivum and T. durum varieties were grouped separately in different clusters. Cluster means of different characters suggest wide range of variation for plant height, grain yield/plant, biological yield/plant and harvest index.
