Genetic effects in wheat immature embryo culture response

In this review, it is reported that many studies show that the tissue culture response (TCR) of immature wheat embryos is controlled by a few major genes and some modifiers. Some of the genes involved have been located in genome B and on homoeologous chromosome groups 2, 4 and 6. Immature embryo TCR is also affected by cytoplasmic elements. Interaction of nuclear, cytoplasmic and cultural factors plays a part.
