Genetic effects induced by the Chernobyl' accident in the gametes of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.)

Genetic effects induced by the Chernobyl' accident in the gametes of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.)

Genetika Moskva 29(7): 1205-1212

In populations exposed to radiation in the range 5-500 Cu/kmsuperscript 2, the percentage of root-tip cells with chromosome aberrations at the first mitotic division in seedlings was determined, together with the frequency of mutations altering the action of loci coding for the synthesis of isoenzymes in megasporophytes of seeds from contaminated megaspores. Marked genetic effects were detected.
