Genetic engineering in forest trees

Agro Food Industry Hi Tech 4(6): 15-19

Research developments in genetic engineering of forest trees are reported, with an emphasis on transformation and gene expression. The possibility is discussed of adding new phenotypic traits to trees and it is shown that some tree species, such as poplar (Populus), can be easily manipulated genetically.
