Genetic evaluation of linear type traits with an animal model

Linear classification data on 15 traits of cows were analysed by BLUP with an animal model. The data were collected by 4 classifiers during 1987-90 from 1647 cows in 7 herds. Individual breeding values were computed for each trait using a model in which parity, lactating month, classification date, herd and classifier were considered as fixed effects.
