Genetic evaluation of the Lacaune, Manech and Sarda dairy sheep with an animal model

Genetic evaluation of the Lacaune, Manech and Sarda dairy sheep with an animal model

Proceedings of the 5th international symposium on machine milking of small ruminants, Budapest, Hungary, May 14-20, 1993: 289-304

This paper presents the results of an analysis of the Lacaune, Manech and Sarda dairy sheep using an animal model. At the end of 1992, this analysis involved 1 542 559 lactations of 506 480 Lacaune dairy ewes recorded from 1978, 581 706 lactations of 206 588 Manech ewes and 440 064 lactations of 197 259 Sarda dairy ewes recorded from 1983 respectively. Results are consistent with the organization of the nucleus herd of each breed.
