Genetic investigation of Bacillus subtilis, a producer of milk-coagulating enzyme complexes

Genetic investigation of Bacillus subtilis, a producer of milk-coagulating enzyme complexes

Acta Microbiologica Bulgarica ( 26): 67-72

Dissociation is a phenomenon by which, from an initial bacterial population, different morphological and physiological phenomena may be produced. For bacterial producers of biologically active substances, the investigation of this process is important for industrial microbiology. Bacillus subtilis 76 is a producer of a proteolytic enzyme complex with a milk-coagulating effect. It dissociates in several different forms. Some of these (M, R, S) were studied.
