Genetics of homeostasis for characters determining yield and content of carotenoid pigments in the grain of spring durum wheat

Seven varieties contrasting in yield and carotenoid content were crossed in a complete diallel pattern and the F1 and F2 hybrids and their parents were evaluated at 2 sites in 1989 and 1990 using homeostasis (Hi) as a measure of capacity to combine high values for the character under favourable conditions with minimum fall in this value under unfavourable ones.
