Identification of salt-tolerance of citrus germplasm

Identification of salt-tolerance of citrus germplasm

Acta Horticulturae Sinica 19(4): 289-295

The seedlings of 3 genera, 15 species and 91 varieties of citrus were treated with 100, 50, 25 or 0 mM NaCl solutions for 70 days. Results showed that Poncirus trifoliata, Ichang papeda (Citrus ichangensis), C. junos, C. medica, C. limon and citrange (P. trifoliata x C. sinensis) are sensitive, while sour orange (C. aurantium) and sweet orange (C. sinensis) are tolerant. The tolerance of mandarins (C. reticulata) showed wide variation.
